There are certain parts of London that just have it figured out. Eccleston Yards – that quiet, cobbled pocket of Belgravia – is one of them. It’s the kind of enchanting summer place where you pop in for a glass of wine and somehow end up staying for three hours. A lot of that is down to Amie Wine Studio, which has quietly become one of our favourite spots in the city for a relaxed lunch or a lingering evening. So when we heard that founders Abbie Roden and Will Sandbach were opening a pizza restaurant right next door, our reaction was essentially: obviously. Of course they are. Where else?
Weezie’s opened last week, and the premise is delightfully uncomplicated: thin-crust pizza, cold drinks, good company. It’s a walk-ins only with takeaway available – simple and unfuzzy, just like a pizza place needs to be. The name comes from Abbie’s Kentuckian grandmother Louise – affectionately known as Weezie – and that slightly southern inflection runs through the whole menu, from the buttermilk ranch sauce to the Kentucky-leaning Old Fashioned on the cocktail list.
What’s on the menu?
Head chef Sumant Sinai – previously of Circus Pizza at Panzer’s and Share a Slice – is running the kitchen, and the pizza menu walks a satisfying line between the familiar and the adventurous. There’s a classic tomato pizza and a margherita, as well as a “white hot” pizza with hot honey, Calabrian chillies, and stracciatella (to which we say “yes, I do” to, anytime of the day), as well as a sobrasada pizza with charred creamed sweetcorn. All the pizzas use British ingredients and regeneratively farmed flour for the base.
Beyond the pizzas, look out for confit garlic butter dough with labneh and a vinegary pickle plate among the smaller shareable plates, plus a dipping sauce lineup covering southern buttermilk ranch (the Weezie tribute, naturally), salsa verde, hot honey, and confit garlic mayo. To finish, a modest but beguilingly simple chocolate mousse with cold-pressed olive oil and sea salt flakes.

The drinks
The full Amie ecosystem is present and correct – their own wines including a rosé and a crémant, plus a Weezie’s orange wine – alongside Guinness and Harbour beers on tap, and a tight cocktail list covering the classics: spicy margaritas, negronis, and, naturally, a Kentucky-leaning Old Fashioned. You won’t feel short-changed, but equally, it’s likely you won’t need fifteen minutes and a mood board to order a drink.
The space
Designed by Abbie alongside Flora de Boinville, the interiors are warm, eclectic, and characterful. Most of the furniture is vintage and reclaimed, sourced from markets across the UK, resulting in a joyfully mismatched look that takes real skill to pull off: worn wooden tables, benches, cowhide-upholstered armchairs, Fermoie fabrics throughout.
There’s a lively bar up front, more relaxed dining at the back, and tables that spill out into the Yard when London’s weather eventually cooperates. It’s designed to work in tandem with Amie next door – start with a glass over there, drift over here for pizza and a pint, stay longer than you planned. Those are always the best nights.
