It was the frown line that did it. You know the one — perched unapologetically above the brow, etched deeper every time I squint at my phone. It wasn’t there a year ago and now, it feels like it is practically waving back at me in the mirror. Most of us are told that signs of ageing (the fine lines, dullness, loss of bounce)are irreversible. But two years ago, No7 proved us wrong.
According to No7, repair is possible — and not just preventatively. Their Future Renew range launched in 2023 and became the UK’s biggest beauty launch ever. With this range, No7 wants us to believe we can actually undo visible signs of skin damage. And we bought it. In fact, one Future Renew product sold every seven seconds.
Now, No7’s upped the ante with a brand-new addition: the Future Renew Night Serum. Think overnight skin therapy — science-backed, peptide-rich, and designed to reverse years of skin damage while you sleep. Naturally, I had to put it to the test.
What’s so special about Future Renew?
At the heart of Future Renew is a proprietary super peptide blend called Pepticology™. It was developed in collaboration with the University of Manchester after 15 years of research. Unlike preventative products, Future Renew promises visible repair of existing skin damage caused by sun exposure, pollution, stress, and life itself (including, admittedly, the long-term effects of one too many cocktails).
The peptides support the skin’s natural renewal processes and help restore over 50 key proteins found in healthy, youthful skin. These proteins maintain firmness, elasticity, and resilience. They tend to break down over time or with exposure to environmental aggressors.
According to No7, this new Night Serum represents the brand’s most scientifically advanced formulation yet. But it’s not just the formulation that makes this product effective; it’s also our very own circadian rhythm (or body clock). Dr. Mike Bell, No7’s Head of Science Research, explained:
“For five years, No7 scientists, working alongside the University of Manchester and world leading chronobiologist Professor Qing Jun Meng, have undertaken a pioneering study on the importance of night-time for the skin and the potential role for chronotechnology and tailored night products. No7 has used this scientific discovery and insight to develop a clinically proven, potent night serum formulation as part of its Future Renew skincare range.”
So, not only is No7 using advanced peptides to repair skin, but they’re also tapping into the body’s natural circadian rhythms to help the serum work most effectively during the skin’s prime time for repair: the night.
The full Future Renew family picture
If you end up purchasing the night serum and loving it, there are good news. The night serum has a big family! Here is the whole beauty checklist:
1. Future Renew Day Serum– Powered by No7’s exclusive Pepticology™ technology, this lightweight serum is the cornerstone of the range.
2. Future Renew Peptide Cleanser – A gentle yet effective cleanser infused with peptides to remove impurities without stripping the skin’s natural moisture.
4. Future Renew Day Cream SPF 40 – This day cream combines the benefits of the Future Renew serum with broad-spectrum sun protection.
5. Future Renew Night Cream – A rich cream for intense hydration and nourishment overnight.
6. Future Renew Damage Reversal Eye Serum – A lightweight serum that targets puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines.
7. Future Renew Defence Shield SPF 50 – A recent addition to the range, this lightweight sunscreen offers high-level protection with SPF 50.

Does it really work?
According to No7’s consumer testing, 97% of users saw an improvement in one or more key skin concerns, including fine lines, firmness, tone, and texture. The new Night Serum specifically offers 72 hours of hydration. It also complements the existing Future Renew Day Serum so your skin is supported around the clock.
It’s worth noting that most visible results are reported after four weeks of use, as they aren’t simply due to surface-level hydration. The formula repairs skin from within, so a little patience goes a long way.
My experience with the Future Renew night serum
As someone with dry-leaning skin that often feels painfully tight post-cleanse and tends to look dull by morning, I was curious to see how No7’s latest night serum would hold up.
I’ve only been using the Future Renew Night Serum for a week, so I can’t speak to long-term damage reversal — but what I can say is that it does exactly what it claims on the bottle: it makes the skin feel more plump and hydrated by morning.
The formula itself is silky and lightweight (see below), sitting somewhere between a serum and a light lotion. There’s no overpowering fragrance, and it sinks in quickly without leaving any residue — ideal if, like me, you like to layer a thicker cream on top. I’ve been applying it each night after cleansing and toning, then sealing it in with a rich moisturiser.
After a few nights wearing it, I can feel that my skin feels more supple and less tight when I wake up. There’s a visible plumpness, particularly around the cheeks.
No dramatic change to be reported (frown line is still very much present!) but I wouldn’t expect that from any product in a week. What I have seen is a welcome boost in hydration and comfort. As someone with dry skin, these changes are very appreciated.
Should you try it?
If your skin is showing signs of stress, sun damage, or ageing — and you’re looking for a product that goes beyond surface-level smoothing — the Future Renew Night Serum is a strong contender. The formulation is gentle, non-irritating, and highly wearable, so you really don’t have much to lose.
I would recommend it to anyone who is hesitant about using actives like retinoids or acids but still wants visible results. There’s a reason why a Future Renew product sells every seven seconds – it must work!
For me, the greatest appeal is the concept of repair. Skincare is often preventative (hello SPF). Yet, there’s something deeply reassuring about a product that tells you it’s not too late. Your skin is still capable of renewal. And if that renewal can happen while you sleep, even better.
