Las-Flores-Don-Julio-x-BAFTA-x-The-Savoy

We all know the drill when it comes to award ceremonies. The entrance is a star-studded affair, with A-listers gliding down the red carpet under cameras’ flash before moving inside for a sumptuous dinner, flowing champagne, and the steady drip of winner announcements. Once the cameras stop rolling, we can only imagine the lavish after-parties stretching long into the night.

This year, however, we’re getting a peek behind the curtain – quite literally – thanks to a special cocktail that will make its debut at the official after-party.

All about this year’s BAFTA cocktail

To mark this year’s EE BAFTA Film Awards, which will take place this Sunday, the 22nd of February, Don Julio Tequila has partnered with The Savoy to create Las Flores, a limited-edition serve. This exclusive cocktail doesn’t just celebrate this year’s BAFTA edition, but 16 years of The Savoy as the Official Hotel Partner to the Awards. It will be served to winners and guests at the after-party.

And we have some good news for you: you don’t need a BAFTA nomination to try it. Las Flores is available to the public at The American Bar at The Savoy, from the 16th to the 28th of February (next Saturday),so you too can feel like Hollywood royalty while you sip on this Meryl Streep of cocktails.

The cocktail is priced at £29 (we didn’t say Meryl Streep of cocktails for nothing) and served in a classic lowball (old-fashioned) glass. It combines the premium Don Julio 1942 (which retails for £205 a bottle, by the way) with jasmine verte, apricot liqueur, fresh lime, sugar, a touch of absinthe and Peychaud’s bitters.

The result is a cocktail that’s at once bright and layered: citrus notes, floral hints, and a rounded warmth from the spirit and apricot liqueur. Because the BAFTAs require something a little more layered and polished than your run-of-the-mill, Tuesday night G&T.

About Don Julio 1942

At the heart of Las Flores is Don Julio 1942, a tequila crafted from 100% blue agave grown in the clay-rich soils of Los Altos in Jalisco. This high-end spirit is known for its smooth, rounded character, which adds warmth and richness to the cocktail.

Don Julio’s presence at the Awards extends beyond the cocktail bar. As the Official Spirit Partner, the brand will host a dedicated Winners’ Bar experience at the after-party, where BAFTA recipients can engrave their masks and receive a personalised bottle of Don Julio 1942 – also engraved – to mark the moment. The real question is: what’s

The Savoy and BAFTA

The Savoy’s long-standing relationship with BAFTA isn’t at all surprising: The 5-star hotel has a rich heritage in entertainment and performance that dovetails with BAFTA’s mission to celebrate excellence in film and television;

Positioned on the River Thames and a London fixture for more than 135 years, it remains one of the recognisable addresses. The American Bar, in particular, is internationally regarded for its inventive cocktail menus and storied history, making it a perfectly fitting home for the Awards’ official serve.

If you’re looking to toast awards season but didn’t quite make this year’s guest list, Las Flores offers a small taste of the glamorous BAFTA atmosphere. The cocktail will be available seven days a week throughout its limited run, until the 28th of February.

Reservations for The American Bar can be made via The Savoy’s website.
