If any brand can make rose scents feel appealing again, it’s Sol de Janeiro. Overused, often powdery, and usually tied to a more mature clientele (very much the opposite of Sol de Janeiro’s young crowd), rose isn’t an obvious choice for a brand best known for pistachio, caramel, and summer-coded body care. And yet, Sol de Janeiro went for it.
All about Rosa Charmosa
Rosa Charmosa is Sol de Janeiro’s newest range, officially available since the 15th of December 2025 in Boots, Look Fantastic, and other retailers. The range comprises the Rosa Charmosa Dewy Cream (£21.00 for 75ml, or £48.00 for 240ml) and the Cheirosa 91 Perfume Mist (£25.00 for 90ml, or £39.00 for 240ml). Both products centre on rose, but not the dusty, old-school, “my mum would love this” kind. This is rose done the Sol de Janeiro way: warmer, brighter, sexier, and far more addictive than you might expect.
Cheirosa 91 doesn’t smell like a traditional rose fragrance. Instead of the immediate floral hit, it’s juicy, tropical, and slightly sweet. It opens with passionfruit and pink pepper, then moves into Rio Pink Rose (captured using the brand’s Scent Imprint Technology), with magnolia and pistachio cream in the middle, and a dry-down of honey caramel, amber, sandalwood and sugar crystals. As it settles, it softens and warms, with that familiar Sol de Janeiro comfort underneath – the kind that feels more skin-adjacent than perfumey.
If you already use Sol de Janeiro mists, it’s likely you’ll quickly grow fond of this new product. It lasts better than most mists, which helps justify the price. Though if you’re like us (utterly devoted to the brand), you’ll soon fall into the habit of generously layering it throughout the day.
Like the mist, the Rosa Charmosa Dewy Cream smells and feels like a spa moment. Formula-wise, it has Brazilian yacón essence (rich in fructose, used to help draw in and hold hydration), and Sol de Janeiro specifically calls out that it’s extracted via cold-press technology to preserve potency.
Alongside that, you’ve got rosewater for soothing hydration, and a Crystal Peptide designed to support skin structure so it reflects light more evenly – which is basically another way of saying it’s aiming for that dewy, lit-from-within body finish without glitter. The texture is delightfully light and whipped (much like the other Sol de Janeiro creams), and it melts onto the skin beautifully.

The latest on Sol de Janeiro
Since being acquired by L’Occitane, Sol de Janeiro’s sales have grown by more than 150% year on year, reaching close to €700 million in 2024 alone. This is almost a third of the group’s total revenue, which is notable for a brand that, not long ago, was best known for one very good body cream.
Meanwhile, over the years, hashtags linked to Sol de Janeiro have racked up well over a billion views on TikTok. Pistachio has gone from a niche note to a full-blown beauty obsession, largely off the back of Sol de Janeiro’s original Bum Bum Cream and Cheirosa 62.
Cheirosa 62 and Cheirosa 68 have essentially setting the bar for what body mists should smell and feel like. Now, almost every high-street beauty retailer has at least one warm, gourmand-style mist. But the OG always does it best – and this launch is a refreshing addition to the brand’s trend-setting family.
“Our goal was to bring scientific precision to the body ritual without losing the soul of what makes Sol so beloved,” said Valerie Bonime, SVP, Global Product Marketing at Sol de Janeiro. “We formulated Rosa Charmosa to address what the body needs—clinically proven to deliver 48-hour hydration and a lasting glow—while offering the same sensorial joy our consumers expect. With Cheirosa 91, we wanted to reimagine rose for Brazil: fruity, modern, and full of life.”
Both Rosa Charmosa Dewy Cream and Cheirosa 91 Perfume Mist are available at Boots, Look Fantastic, SpaceNK and other retailers.
